COPA Tysons Soccer Fest Brings Community Together

On June 21, the heart of Tysons came alive as COPA Tysons Soccer Fest united families, soccer fans, and local businesses for a day filled with energy, fun, and community spirit.
More than just a festival, COPA Tysons is a movement—an annual tradition that makes soccer a defining part of the city. From lively watch parties and friendly pickup matches to a family-friendly festival full of games and activities, the event created a space where people of all backgrounds came together to celebrate “the beautiful game.”

Adding to the excitement was a special appearance by Jaime Moreno, legendary Bolivian striker and D.C. United icon, who inspired fans and families with his presence.
“What I love about COPA Tysons Soccer Fest is how it elevates soccer beyond the field, using the power of the game to unite people culturally and socially,” said Tamir Linhart, Tysons Community Alliance board member and founder of Golden Boot Soccer. “The festival creates a festive, inclusive atmosphere that strengthens community ties and celebrates our diverse, soccer-loving heritage.”
Supported by the Tysons Community Alliance (TCA) and local partners, the event also highlighted Tysons as a rising destination for international sports and cultural celebration.
“The success of this year’s COPA Tysons Soccer Fest underscores Tysons’ growing role as a regional hub,” said Katie Cristol, CEO of TCA. “We’re not only building community—we’re supporting small businesses, welcoming visitors, and showing the world what makes Tysons so special.”
As the excitement carries into next summer, one thing is clear: COPA Tysons is more than a game. It’s a joyful, unifying tradition that’s here to stay.
