FAIRFAX CASA Opening Her Home, Opening Doors
By Jocelyn Sorto Futterer – Fairfax CASA
CASA volunteer and ambassador Elaine del Cerro graciously opened her home to members of her network for an intimate and meaningful fundraiser in support of Fairfax Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), where she has served since May 2025.
The evening began with remarks from Fairfax CASA Executive Director Darcy Hubbard, who highlighted the organization’s mission and addressed the growing challenges nonprofits face amid uncertainty surrounding federal funding. Elaine then spoke from the heart, sharing personal reflections on her journey as a CASA volunteer and her unwavering commitment to advocating for at-risk children and youth.
Through generosity and collective purpose, the gathering raised nearly $17,000—funds that will directly support abused and neglected children across Northern Virginia.
This inspiring event stands as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together in service of its most vulnerable members. ✨
