McLean Winterfest Parade Returns

After a five-year hiatus, the McLean Winterfest Parade is making a highly anticipated return on Sunday, December 8th, thanks to the dedication and hard work of local volunteers. Initially canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic and facing challenges in subsequent years, this beloved community tradition is back, led by Barbara Zamora-Appel and Maria Foderaro-Guertin, with strong support from the McLean Revitalization Corporation (MRC).

Barbara, determined to bring the parade back, secured the backing of Tom Gilmore and the MRC board, reigniting the passion for this cherished event. Maria, her co-chair, joined forces with Barbara, and together they are working with many volunteers to create a memorable and exciting experience for the McLean community.

The 2024 McLean Winterfest Parade promises to be a spectacular event, featuring entertainment from local organizations, youth groups, and businesses. Kicking off with pre-parade entertainment at 2 p.m. on the stage at The Langley Shopping Center, the parade itself will wind down Old Chain Bridge Road, showcasing participants who will walk, dance, march, drive, or display decorative floats.

In addition to participants, the MRC is actively seeking sponsors for the parade. Sponsors will receive recognition online, through social media platforms, and during the event. With thousands of spectators expected, this is a prime opportunity for local businesses to engage with the community.
