A Partnership That Continues to Grow
For years, Vinson Hall has partnered with The Potomac School, a K–12 college preparatory school just down the street.
What started as an occasional visit has grown into something much more intentional: a genuine, ongoing relationship between two communities that have so much to offer one another.
Learning Through Real-Life Stories
Potomac students have visited campus to interview residents for a Witnessing History project, connecting firsthand accounts of the Civil Rights Movement, wartime experiences, and women’s careers to stories they had previously only read about in textbooks.
These conversations create meaningful learning experiences that simply can’t be replicated in a classroom.
Growing Together
The partnership extends far beyond storytelling.
Students and residents have worked side by side digging garden beds and planting trees during Earth Day celebrations.
They’ve also gathered around card tables for friendly games of Uno, where laughter fills the room and friendships naturally grow.
