Highlights from Suited for Change’s 33rd Annual Gala

In our last issue, we introduced you to Suited for Change, a remarkable nonprofit based in Washington, D.C., with a mission to empower women through professional attire, career coaching, and job-readiness training. Their goal? To foster economic independence and create pathways to opportunity—one woman at a time.
This spring, the organization hosted its 33rd Annual Gala at the stunning District Winery on Wednesday, May 28. The event was a night of purpose and celebration, bringing together over 100 guests, including corporate partners, nonprofit leaders, and dedicated supporters.
Together, attendees raised more than $125,000—a powerful testament to the community’s belief in Suited for Change’s impact.
🌟 A Celebration of Resilience and Hope
With panoramic waterfront views, curated wine pairings, and a lively silent auction, the evening offered more than elegance—it delivered heartfelt connection.
One of the most powerful moments came when Jasmin Lambert, a Suited for Change client, took the stage. She shared her personal story of navigating uncertainty and rebuilding her life with the help of the organization’s support. Her courage and honesty captured the spirit of the evening and reminded everyone of the real, human impact behind each dollar raised.
💼 Impact That Lasts
In 2024 alone, Suited for Change has served over 1,000 women—many facing unemployment, re-entering the workforce, or overcoming homelessness. Their services are completely free and deeply personalized, including:
- One-on-one styling sessions
- Tailored career coaching
- Ongoing support for every phase of the journey
These services not only help women look the part—they help them feel confident, seen, and ready to step into new opportunities.
“Jasmin’s story was a moving reminder of the real impact Suited for Change has on the lives of women across our region,” said Executive Director Liz Rienert. “Thanks to the generosity of our community, we can continue showing up in meaningful, lasting ways—helping women not just strive, but truly thrive.”
