The Napkin Network
By: Charlie Gallegos
In 2020, amid the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lindsay Gill—a mom of three—founded The Napkin Network with a mission to support mothers in need. Based in the DMV area, the organization was inspired by Lindsay’s own experiences with motherhood and the isolation and resource scarcity amplified by the pandemic.
What started with a successful diaper drive soon became more than just a resource provider. The Napkin Network became a support system, connecting mothers and redistributing essential resources to empower them through shared strength. Over the past five years, the organization has redistributed over 500,000 baby items to local families, offering not just supplies but community and hope.
Lindsay, the founder and driving force behind the organization, balances her role as a mother with her passion for helping other moms. While officially a solo leader, she relies on a network of dedicated volunteers and local business partnerships to make The Napkin Network a success.
Despite recent challenges—like losing access to a free pantry space—Lindsay remains determined to continue growing the program, expanding its reach, and overcoming obstacles with community support.
How You Can Help
There are many ways to support The Napkin Network:
- Financial Contributions: Even $100 can cover essentials like diapers and formula for families in need.
- Item Donations: Diapers (sizes 5 & 6), pull-ups, seasonal items like cough medicine, and formula are always in demand.
- Volunteer: Help with donation drives, events, or organizational efforts. Contact Lindsay@TheNapkinNetwork.com to get involved.
Together, we can ensure no mother faces these challenges alone.
